Pets: Peka, an Old English Sheepdog
“We only know a tiny proportion about the complexity of the natural world. Wherever you look, there are still things we don’t know about and don’t understand. There are always new things to find out if you go looking for them.” One of the most amazing things about working with animals is you are always learning!
I am just starting at EVA. I have volunteered at the Humane Society while going to Santa Clara University, and have spent a lot of time at Our Lady of the Rock Monastery working with rare-breed animals.
My personal hobbies include photography and dance! I spent two years as a yearbook photographer in high school and college. I’ve been dancing for over a decade, although more for fun than competition. I also enjoy exploring beautiful places and traveling. In fact, I just got back from a month-and-a-half trip to Europe.
My family adopted Peka because unfortunately, she did not mesh well with another family who had multiple dogs. When we got Peka, we only had one other dog named Darwin (a Bearded Collie), who has now passed. We offered to take her in if she got along with him, and she did! She now happily lives in Hawai’i with my parents.
